Unsalted butter Powdered sugar Whole milk Vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 350. Spray an 8" pan with nonstick spray and line the bottom with parchment paper.  Spray again with nonstick spray.

Cookie cake

Cream butter and both sugars on medium until light and fluffy.

Add egg and beat until incorporated.

Combine flour, baking soda and salt in medium bowl, stir with a whisk.

Add flour to butter and egg mixture.

Beat until well combined.

Add chocolate chips and mix on low until evenly dispersed.

Move batter into the pan and spread evenly.  Bake for 22 min and let cool.

Cream the butter and 1/2 cup powdered sugar for 3 min on medium.

Buttercream

Add 1/4 c. of powdered sugar and beat for 3 minutes on med.  Stop mixture halfway to scrape sides to fully incorporate.

Add milk and vanilla, beat 1 more minute, scraping if necessary.

Spoon buttercream into a piping bag and decorate the cooled cookie cake.
