Equipment

  • large pot
  • colander or strainer
  • Large nonstick skillet
  • Spatula

Ingredients

  • tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 pound ground turkey (I used 85/15)
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon italian seasoning
  • ¼ teaspoon ground pepper
  • 24 ounces marinara sauce (I used Rao's)
  • 12 ounces spaghetti noodles

Instructions

  • In a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat, add the olive oil. Meanwhile, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  • Add the ground turkey to the skillet. Add the kosher salt, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, and ground pepper to the turkey.
  • Use a spatula to break up the turkey and cook until browned and no longer pink. Pour in the marinara sauce and reduce the heat to medium-low.
  • Stir in the sauce. Meanwhile cook the pasta in the boiling water according to the package directions, being careful not to overcook it.
  • Let the sauce simmer while the pasta cooks, stirring occasionally. Once the pastas done cooking, drain it. Turn the heat off of the sauce. Toss the spaghetti with the sauce and serve.
