Ingredients
  

  • ½ cup maple syrup
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cayenne pepper Note 1

Instructions
 

  • In a small saucepan, combine the maple syrup and cayenne pepper. Stir to combine.
  • Heat the maple syrup for 5 minutes over medium heat to infuse the flavor of the cayenne.
  • Enjoy immediately or refrigerate and use within two weeks.

Notes

Note 1: This maple syrup recipe is moderately spicy. You can customize the heat level. If you want less heat, reduce the cayenne. For more heat, add ¼ teaspoon more. 
Note 2: You don't have to heat the maple syrup. It helps infuse it with the heat from the cayenne. You can skip this step and just mix the two together if you prefer.
