Apple Crisp without Oats

Ingredients:

Apples

Butter

Lemon

Brown sugar

Flour

Sugar

Kosher salt

In a large bowl, combine the apples, lemon juice, ¼ cup of brown sugar, and kosher salt. Toss well.

In a large bowl, combine the butter, sugar, brown sugar, flour, and lemon zest.

Use your fingers to mix the butter into the dry ingredients until well incorporated. Set aside.

In a large skillet, heat 1 ½ tablespoons of butter on medium high heat. Add the apples to the pan and cook until slightly soft .

Carefully pour the apple mixture into the baking dish.

Top with as much of the crumble topping as you like. I only used about ⅔ of it.

Bake for 35 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the apples are fork-tender and soft.
