This strawberry cream cheese tastes great on bagels, toast, or sliced fruit! It's rich, creamy, and bursting with sweet strawberry flavor. Just 3 ingredients!
Strawberry Schmear:
It's SO easy to elevate cream cheese with tasty mix-ins! This strawberry cream cheese is literally just cream cheese, jam, and powdered sugar.
It's subtly sweet and bursting with strawberry flavor! I like to spread it on a toasted bagel, but it tastes great as a fruit dip too. A little bit sweet, a little bit tangy, and oh SO delicious!
It's an easy way to make breakfast more fun! (And fruity!)
Key Ingredients:
- Cream cheese - Full-fat provides the richest, creamiest flavor. But light cream cheese works too!
- Strawberry jam - Jam is the star of the show, so choose a brand you love!
- Powdered sugar - A nice contrast to the tangy cream cheese! I prefer a subtly sweet flavor. If you prefer a sweeter cream cheese, add more to taste.
How to Make Strawberry Cream Cheese:
You can make strawberry cream cheese in three simple steps. It takes all of 5 minutes (or less!).
- Step 1: Whip the cream cheese for a minute to lighten the consistency.
- Step 2: Add the jam and powdered sugar. Feel free to adjust the amounts to your own tastebuds.
- Step 3: Beat for 1 more minute on medium speed until light and fluffy.
Serve immediately or chill for later! It's that easy.
Can I add fresh strawberries?
Of course! You can add fresh, diced strawberries if you like. I prefer not to because I find they get mushy after a couple days. I like to spread my strawberry cream cheese on toast then top with cut up strawberries! It's a personal preference.
I wouldn't use frozen strawberries though, because they release too much liquid as they thaw.
Variations:
- Jam - Make this flavored cream cheese into any fruity flavor by swapping the jam! Try blueberry or cherry jam.
- Sweetness - Feel free to add more powdered sugar for a sweeter spread.
- Dairy-free - Swap the cream cheese with a dairy-free or vegan alternative.
Ways to Serve Strawberry Cream Cheese:
- On a toasted bagel, of course!
- Spread on toast and top with diced strawberries or bananas.
- Serve with graham crackers, pretzels, crackers, or shortbread cookies!
- Serve with fresh fruit for a creamy fruit dip.
- Spread on a blueberry or strawberry muffin (or quick bread).
- Use it to stuff French toast or crepes! Or add a dollop to pancakes!
Storage:
- Cream cheese is perishable and needs to be refrigerated! Transfer the cream cheese spread to an airtight container and chill for up to 1 week.
- I don't recommend freezing flavored cream cheese. The consistency suffers as a result.
