Can't have gluten?! Don't miss out this holiday season with these drool-worthy gluten-free Thanksgiving recipes! From mashed potatoes and mac & cheese to sweet potato casserole, I've got you covered.
Gluten Free at Thanksgiving:
When I first got diagnosed with Celiac disease, I was super bummed when the holidays rolled around and I couldn't enjoy all the gluten-laden goodies of the past.
Thankfully, since then, I've learned that gluten-free food can taste just as good as the real thing! It's all about finding the right recipes and using the right ingredients.
Here's a few tips to keep things tasty:
- Use a good gluten-free all-purpose flour blend! Don't just pick any random brand off the shelf. Some of them taste awful! My favorite is Bob's Red Mill's 1 to 1 Gluten Free Baking Flour.
- Homemade gluten free pie crust is better than store-bought. Store-bought versions are not always flaky.
- Always check labels! Many store-bought ingredients are not gluten-free, including canned soup, fried onions, bread, Worcestershire sauce, gravy, cornbread, crackers, etc.
Gluten Free Thanksgiving Recipes:
You will LOVE all these gluten-free Thanksgiving recipes! I highly recommend the sweet potato casserole.
1. Instant Pot Mashed Potatoes
These Instant Pot mashed potatoes are the easiest mashed potatoes ever!
The potatoes cook in the instant pot, then get mashed with chicken stock, butter, and milk. They are SO fluffy, buttery, and creamy!
Most brands of chicken stock are gluten-free, but always check the label to be sure!
2. Gluten Free Pumpkin Coffee Cake
This gluten free pumpkin coffee cake is best enjoyed in a cozy sweater on an autumn night!
The pumpkin cake is moist, perfectly spiced, and topped with a buttery pecan streusel.
It's simple to make, gorgeous to look at, and dangerously delicious.
3. Gluten Free Sausage Apple Stuffing
Gluten free stuffing is arguably one of the most important side dishes at Thanksgiving, so it's important to get it right.
This version nails the sweet-and-savory combo. It's a mixture of Italian sausage, tart apples, dried cranberries, and rosemary.
My two favorite brands of gluten-free bread are Canyon Bakehouse's Mountain White and Schar's Sourdough Deli Style Bread.
4. Gluten Free Sweet Potato Casserole
This recipe technically calls for regular flour, but I've made it so many times with gluten-free flour that I know it's amazing!
All you need to do is swap all-purpose flour with Bob's Red Mill's 1 to 1 Gluten Free Baking Flour. You can find it at Target, Walmart, or on Amazon.
The sweet potato mixture is super creamy and the topping is buttery and sweet. SO good.
5. Thanksgiving Fruit Salad
Let's face it - Thanksgiving food is heavy! It's full of butter, cream, cheese, sugar, etc.
It's SO nice to have a fresh fruit salad to temper all the rich dishes! This one is perfect for Thanksgiving with pears, apples, grapes, kiwi, and pomegranate seeds.
6. Almond Flour Cornbread
This recipe couldn't be easier AND it's delicious! The texture is light and fluffy yet perfectly moist.
You don't even need a gluten-free flour blend for this recipe. You just need almond flour and cornmeal! But don't worry, you won't even taste any almond flavor.
7. Homemade Creamed Corn
Creamed corn, made from basic ingredients like sweet corn, milk, butter, and cream cheese, is a comforting side dish that complements any Thanksgiving spread.
It's pretty effortless and only takes about 15 minutes to make. Everyone loves it too!
8. Gluten Free Broccoli Casserole
This gluten-free broccoli casserole is super easy and a nice change of pace if you're not big on green beans.
It's made with tender broccoli, a decadent creamy cheese sauce, and a crunchy and buttery topping, all baked to golden brown perfection.
9. Gluten Free Apple Crisp
Made with wholesome ingredients, this gluten free apple crisp is gooey in the center and perfectly crisp on the outside.
It's SO much easier than baking a whole pie, but just as delicious!
10. Maple Cranberry Sauce
I'm team homemade cranberry sauce 100%!
In this version, tart cranberries are cooked with maple syrup and orange juice until thick and jammy. I like mine on the tarter side so I reduce the maple syrup a bit.
11. Candied Brussels Sprouts
Brussels sprouts caramelize in olive oil and then finish with maple syrup, Dijon mustard, and apple cider vinegar.
These candied brussels sprouts are full of flavor and a breeze to make! They're subtly sweet and the perfect veg for your Thanksgiving spread.
12. Oven Roasted Delicata Squash
Delicata squash tastes like a cross between a sweet potato and a butternut squash!
This version is glazed with sweet maple syrup, enriched with butter, and sprinkled with ground cinnamon, creating a flavorful autumn side dish!
It's easy to make and pairs beautifully with chicken, pork, or your Thanksgiving turkey!
13. Cauliflower Au Gratin
Roasted cauliflower is coated in a sauce made with Gruyere and Parmesan cheese, then baked in the oven. It's perfectly tender, NOT mushy, and SO cheesy!
Serve this healthy vegetarian casserole for Thanksgiving, Christmas, or any holiday dinner when you want to impress.
14. Spatchcock Turkey
Short on time?! Spatchcock your turkey instead. This method tastes just like a roasted turkey, but takes a lot less time!
It cooks in just 60-90 minutes, which is quick considering a roasted bird can take up to 4 hours.
15. Gluten Free Turkey Gravy
This gravy is loaded with flavor and naturally gluten-free! It uses leftover turkey drippings for flavor and roasted veggies as a thickener.
It’s the perfect flavor boost for your roasted turkey, creamy mashed potatoes, and sausage stuffing.
16. Gluten Free Pumpkin Pie
This gluten free pumpkin pie is incredibly flavorful and cozy! It features a buttery, flaky pie crust and smooth creamy filling.
It tastes just like the real deal!
17. Cranberry Salsa
It's always a good idea to have an appetizer or two out on Thanksgiving!
This guilt free holiday appetizer is sweetened with chopped pineapple and honey. Cranberry salsa is SO fresh and tasty. You can make it ahead of time too!

This gluten free pumpkin bread with a chocolate marble swirl is the perfect combo for pumpkin lovers everywhere. It's moist, super delicious, and easy to make!
I have zero self control around this pumpkin bread. It's just THAT good.

Thanksgiving isn't complete without a tried-and-true gluten free macaroni recipe!
This one is rich, ultra-creamy, and easy to make!
