A yogurt parfait with juicy pineapple, sweet strawberries, crunchy granola, and whipped cream! It's so simple yet delicious. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a sweet snack.
Yogurt Parfaits:
Our holiday breakfast of choice - yogurt parfaits! A surprising choice considering how much I adore cinnamon rolls.
But they're SO simple, customizable, delicious, and my entire family loves them - picky kids included. Yogurt parfaits for the win!
After a hundred different versions, I've landed on my perfect parfait, strawberry, pineapple, and granola with honey and whipped cream.
Key Ingredients:
- Greek yogurt - Since yogurt is a crucial component of a parfait, buy a high-quality brand. I really like Kirkland's organic Greek yogurt from Costco, or Fage's nonfat plain Greek yogurt. Some off-brands are thin and taste watered down.
- Strawberries - Peak-season strawberries are best! Look for deep red strawberries with a sweet smell.
- Pineapple - You can buy a whole pineapple or buy a pre-cut one for less prep work. I buy a peeled and cored one, then cut it into chunks and small dice them.
- Honey - I buy organic raw and unfiltered honey from Costco. Raw honey retains all of its antioxidants!
- Granola - I am a die-hard granola fan and I love several brands! But for this parfait, I like a classic oats and honey granola like Kind brand.
- Whipped cream - I used Reddi Wip's extra creamy. You can make it homemade if you prefer.
How to Make this Strawberry & Yogurt Parfait:
It takes all of 10 minutes, if that. The longest part is small dicing the fruit, BUT it's so worth it! It ensures you get every layer all in one juicy bite.
- Prep your fruit. Small dice the pineapple and strawberries. They don't need to be the same size, just small-ish pieces. Toss them together in a bowl.
- Grab a cup and add your layers. Start with the Greek yogurt, then drizzle on some honey. Add the fruit, granola, then the whipped cream.
- Repeat the process. After the second layer of whipped cream, top with more of the fresh fruit.
- Enjoy immediately! Yogurt parfaits are best enjoyed fresh.
Variations:
- Yogurt - I prefer plain yogurt so it's not to sweet. You can swap it with vanilla or strawberry Greek yogurt if you like!
- Dairy-free - Swap the Greek yogurt with a dairy-free alternative and the whipped cream with coconut whipped cream.
- Gluten-free - Look for gluten-free granola. It should be labeled gluten-free to ensure cross contamination isn't an issue.
- Fruit - Feel free to swap the fruit with whatever you like best. Strawberries, blueberries, pineapple, grapes, bananas, and cherries are all delicious!
