Ah, coffee how I love thee.

I rarely deviate from the radiating beauty that is my iced coffee every morning (even if it's 20 degrees out). What can I say? I'm a cold coffee kinda woman.

If there's one thing in life I know its when it comes to coffee you like it how you like it. To me its more than just a cup of coffee, its the start of a new day rife with opportunity. Its fuel to take on every curve ball, and transform them into opportunities.

Don't get me wrong. Some days are just one complete miss to the next. Anyone whose left a lemony fresh, clean pile of clothes on the floor only to return to the stench of cat urine knows what I'm talking about (Thanks a lot Piper).

However, sometimes the worst days make the best stories. And if you're anything like my family, those stories get embellished every time their told until they're so ridiculous they make you laugh so hard you pee on your brother's floor.

I'm always surprised how satisfying it is to try something new. I've decided given the opportunity I want my responses to be 4:1 "Let's do this" to "No thanks".

Because lets be honest every now and then a no thanks is in order. (I'm talking to you broccoli.)

If you adore coffee, let this be your something new today. This coffee smoothie recipe is filling and lightly sweet with a chocolatey aftertaste. Feel free to add more honey if you like a sweeter coffee drink than I do. This recipe is a winner.

    Servings 1

    Ingredients

    • ⅓ cup cold coffee
    • ¼ cup whole milk
    • 1 frozen banana
    • 1 T. Ghiradelli cocoa powder
    • 1 T. peanut butter
    • 1 T. honey

    Instructions

    • Place all ingredients except banana and honey in blender.
    • Add frozen banana and drizzle honey on top of it. This will prevent the honey from staying at the bottom of the blender.
    • Blend well until smooth then enjoy!

    Notes

I use a Ninja blender for all my smoothie making endeavors and am very pleased with its performance.
